Houston Rents Have Climbed To Record Highs

Houston apartment rents have climbed to record highs even with falling oil prices, these prices continue to soar!

The Bayou City has 5 neighborhoods with median rents soaring above $2000 per month according to a recent news article from the Houston Business Journal.

Houstonians pay the most in "downtown" Houston, where the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment is $2,530 per month, this is simply an average — more than twice the city average of $1,210 per month.

Even in the suburbs, renters pay a premium to live in an apartment.

The four Houston suburbs where rents are at an all time high are — Pearland, The Woodlands, Pasadena and Tomball — each have higher median rents than similar apartments in Houston proper. Median rents for a two-bedroom apartment in these southeast and north Houston suburbs range between $1,250 and $1,400 per month at an average.
One of the most affordable Houston suburb to rent an apartment is Spring, where the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment can be $780 per month.
