Apartment Search Tips - Before You Begin Your Search

Apartment Search Tips – Think about what you want before you start your search and it will be a much easier task.

•What can you afford, what do you want to spend on apartment rent monthly - take into consideration electricity, trash, water, pet rent is an additional fee?
( Most apartment communities require your income to equal 3 times the monthly rent, pre-tax/gross )
•What lease term are you able to sign? ( Best price and possible special almost always offered with a 12+ month lease term )
•What area are you looking for? ( Houston has many  suburbs and neighborhoods and prices can vary dramatically by area! Examples - The Galleria area, Heights, Downtown Houston, Clear Lake/Webster, Pearland, The Texas Medical Center, etc. )
•Do you need a 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom or 3+ bedroom apartment? ( 2 occupants is standard occupancy guideline for most properties* )
•What amenities are you looking for? (Washer/dryer in unit; gym; gated; pet friendly community, etc. Most come with all appliances included and there is almost always at least 1 onsite pool )
•Do you have any specific wants or needs? ( examples would be non-carpeted flooring, close to public transportation, roommate split floorplan, top floor or ground floor, etc. )

Now that you have a basic idea of your requirements, I can help you find the best possible apartments that match your apartment search.
